Open Accessibility ?
Today, the right of access to information is guaranted by most of modern democracies. Unfortunately, thinking to accessibility is still not a reflex for a lot of people. At the time of digital age, the price of accessibility is high :
- in terms of dedicated hardware : no mass production effect
- but also for software : adapting existing is hard and time consuming
It is primordial to take into account of accessibility from the beginning.
In terms of philosophy, we want to do it the open way (Free as in free speech).
Who we are ?
As anyone we make mistakes. But we are human, and we can learn from our errors.
Computer scientists, teachers but also experimentalists, we want to contribute to open accessibility.
How ?
Humbly, we want to experiment refreshable braille display prototyping. We hope to federate the largest community of blind users and with their help, we will reshape both hardware and software into a more convenient way.
